There are rare moments when you start browsing through anime as a newbie, trying to familiarize yourself with the medium. You look at one in particular that catches your eye almost immediately. From looking at its description and everything else around it, you know it will either be your favorite anime or not. Serial Experiments Lain was that for me, and to say it kept me invigorated from beginning to end would be an understatement.

There are times when surprises happen to you when you are not prepared for them. The reality is that they do not frequently occur, at least when it comes to anime shows that have no hype behind them but somehow have a huge following when word of mouth spreads around. Often than not, these surprises turn out to be positive outcomes when finished from beginning to end. Death Parade is one particular surprise from 2015 that will reign among the greats in this specific year.

Terror in Resonance Review

Feelings of wanting to destroy society to reconstruct its ideologies have been at the forefront of terrorist actions. Since the beginning of the 21st Century, lately has cropped up numerous terrorist acts across the globe. So, what better way of showcasing these horrific acts of violence than to make an anime where the terrorists are the protagonists? With Cowboy Bebop director Shinichiro Watanabe at the helm of production in Terror in Resonance, this was sure to be a fiery sensation like many of his previous works. Yet, despite the hype, it turns out to be a prime example of how not every show with a talented director will be a great project.
