No Game No Life Review

no-game-no-life

Flourishing aesthetics come a long way in holding a show up from just being average or forgettable. Sometimes loving a show for its robust and energetic personality can be a blessing and a curse. Then again, it all comes down to the show’s purposeful existence to help distinguish how an anime should be viewed. It wants to be a fun and stupid show with the only intention of being provocative or a thought-provoking show with a deep narrative. Now that shouldn’t be said to excuse it entirely on the numerous faults it might have, but with a show like No Game No Life, it is one of the instances where you can’t help but admire its silliness.

Aria the Origination Review

ARIAPS2b

All things eventually have to end, especially with series that have left a mark on many people. One series that has cemented itself as the king of accomplishing this for many is the Aria series. What many consider the series’s magnum opus, Aria the Origination is the last chapter in the anime adaptation of the beloved manga. As you might figure out, it is just about as glamoured with gorgeous music, cheerful characters, and dramatic optimism as one can handle. There comes that one manga you find at the corner of your eye to where you can enjoy it whether you like the genre it consists of or not, all in the essence of parody and satire. It can be a challenging comedic flavor to pull off correctly. Writers have to analyze the aspects of the things they are trying to parody in the first place, but they have to make all of the things that make good comedy work. These things include great comedic timing, sharp jokes that don’t feel forced, and excellent pacing in-between comedy segments. It can be quite a difficult task for a manga focused on comedy, but luckily with manga, you can go buck wild with the stroke of your drawing utensil and think of what works best. It takes a man like Tamiki Wakaki to make it seem like an absolute cakewalk to envision a perfect parody with The World God Only Knows.

With the holiday of Valentine’s Day happening right now, everyone that has a girl in real life or in the cyber world will be spending their quality time of faithful partnership and beautiful harmony. Monogamy is considered the norm across all plateaus of human society. Even with the case of “2D Relationships”, there’s this need to be “pure” or “faithful” to one partner in particular to nourish and love with all you heart. But when push comes to shove, why not just love multiple women equally rather than one? Many will cry foul and be willing to call heretic on me, but they will never understand the fact that love is truly a cruel mistress, literally and figuratively, that one cannot begin to grasp. So with this in mind, I shall give you my Harem of wonderfully beautiful and faithful wives that have touched a place in my heart that many female characters have not. Continue reading
