With the holiday of Valentine’s Day happening right now, everyone that has a girl in real life or in the cyber world will be spending their quality time of faithful partnership and beautiful harmony. Monogamy is considered the norm across all plateaus of human society. Even with the case of “2D Relationships”, there’s this need to be “pure” or “faithful” to one partner in particular to nourish and love with all you heart. But when push comes to shove, why not just love multiple women equally rather than one? Many will cry foul and be willing to call heretic on me, but they will never understand the fact that love is truly a cruel mistress, literally and figuratively, that one cannot begin to grasp. So with this in mind, I shall give you my Harem of wonderfully beautiful and faithful wives that have touched a place in my heart that many female characters have not. Continue reading

Infinite Stratos Season 2 Review

There was once a time in the early 2000s when Harem shows were one of the more popular genres of anime, even in a few parts of the western world with titles such as Tenchi Muyo and Love Hina. Though many anime fans didn’t love the latter because of this specific trope, the former focused on the anime community with its quirky characters. Nowadays, the harem genre isn’t as it once was, not in terms of merit but popularity. Once in a while, we get trying to put different ideas on viewing the genre in terms of parody, comedy, and character development. But some don’t try to do anything unique to it as a whole and most likely felt like it could’ve been a lost harem idea back in 2002.

The World God Only Knows: Goddess Arc Review

It has been a remarkable ride following this series for so long, and looking back at how The World God Only Knows has impacted the anime community, it’s not far off to say that it changed harem anime as we know it. It shows that you don’t need to show girls in suggestive situations all the time to provoke entertainment or emotion into your harem. Sometimes all you need is genuine emotion and intelligent comedic writing to create a meaningful love story. Or, in this case, multiple love stories.

Date A Live Review

Quality entertainment is one thing in any anime show that has ever existed, whether it’s supposed to be the intention or if it was unintentional. With that in mind, many people try to conclude that shows like Date A Live are why anime has gone downhill in recent years because it has officially run out of ideas on what to do with any story. It doesn’t matter how well they tell it, just how it entertains the masses. I find this type of thinking to be overly cynical and silly because this isn’t exactly a new way of thinking. For years, anime studios have put filler shows in season slots since the beginning of anime; whether they were all bad or good is debatable by today’s standards. Nowadays, these harem shows are the best way to churn out these kinds of filler slots to appeal to the casual fan base who like to watch girls flaunt over one guy in comedic ways.

Seto No Hanayome Review

It might seem a bit odd for me to say that shows like Seto no Hanayome that rely solely on comedy and jokes are not at all hard to form a valid criticism whether or not the show succeeds in how it portrays comedic moments in absolutely hilarious ways. People will say that finding something funny is difficult to describe in an objective stance because every person has their own taste in what’s funny and what’s not funny to their own individual preferences.
